FAQ / Resources

What is the difference between Commercial Use and Pleasure Use?

Pleasure use includes driving to and from work.   Business use means that you use your vehicle either full time or part time for your work.  For example, sales calls, contractor, delivery etc.  It is important to insure your vehicle with the proper use in order that an insurance company does not deny a claim.

What is a commercial vehicle?

A commercial vehicle is a motor vehicle used primarily to transport materials, goods, tools or equipment that relates to your occupation. It also includes trailers that are intended for use with said commercial vehicles.

Are the contents of my commercial vehicle covered under my commercial vehicle policy?

No, the contents of your commercial vehicle are covered under your commercial property policy.  This is similar to theft of your personal belongings from your personal vehicle as these items would be covered under your homeowner’s policy or tenant’s package.
